Description

“Got Boundaries?” offers 4 general learning CEUs. Within the Skill-Based Treatment (SBT) process, BCBAs create a “yes space” of synthesized reinforcement for their learners. However, many BCBAs struggle to balance their learner’s HRE and set limits and boundaries. What happens when a learner “voting with their feet” is dangerous? What about learners actively seeking boundaries that are hard no’s or engaging in dangerous behavior seemingly for negative reactions from us?

In “Got Boundaries?”, participants will learn to use the RIE parenting philosophy as a framework and scaffold to set up boundaries in a caring and compassionate way to meet the needs of their learners. Participants will be able to identify who needs boundaries, why boundaries are necessary, when to set a boundary, and how to set a boundary. Additionally, learn about how to be clear and open about boundaries and expectations as well as the steps to provide compassionate denial.

The family of the clients discussed have given written consent for the details shared in this presentation.
