Description
“EFL with SBT” offers 1.5 general learning CEUs. Participants will learn about the benefits of the Essential for Living (EFL) assessment, review the basic assessment process, and then how to embed EFL goals within the Skill-Based Treatment (SBT) process or vice versa using assent. About your Instructor…
Emily Kearney, BCBA, LBA has been using the Sleep Assessment and Treatment Tool since 2015 and has engaged in a variety of self-study on the topic of behavioral treatment of sleep. She provides coaching and mentorship to newer practitioners and has implemented the SATT with a number of families, focusing on using the structured assessment to gather additional information needed to provide families with a comprehensive plan that is manageable and meets their family culture.
Learning objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Learn the basic steps for conducting the EFL and selecting target goals
- Identify the prompt hierarchy and the way the prompts are used within assessment
- Locate the resources needed to complete each part of assessment within the EFL books.
- Use the Quick Assessment with the probe sheet to create an initial assessment list to test in vivo
- Assess assent/dissent forms for a learner
- Use the provided decision tree to select a program set for each learner
- Identify three types of CAB branches within SBT that involve EFL skills
- Map the learner’s skills within the EFL to the SBT process and identify target component skills to practice outside of SBT sessions.
